I understand that there are a lot of threads on this subject, but come on ! I synced everything except music to see if it helps. Then when I start to sync, it takes approximately 25- 30 seconds per song to sync. They are MP3's ! I used to put 1,000 songs on an old mp3 player in just a few minutes. At this rate, to put my approx. 1,200 songs that I want on my iPhone,,,,,will take hours. This is nuts.

The solution to the iPhone sync problems is actually quite simple. The problem cause long sync times is that you have data in the iPhone. This includes Pod-casts, Music, Apps and the like. All you need to do is delete all of this stuff and the iphone will sync immediately

go to the iphone menu in itunes at the sidebar and uncheck 'convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC' and it will speed up. i had the same problem and just played around with it and found that worked great
