iPhone 4 ios 4 camera roll photo orientation

My iPhone 4 is doing the exact same thing. What's interesting is that it works correctly for a while after you reboot. Shortly after that though it stops rotating to landscape.

I have the same problem with the iPhone 4. And the reboot does work. We'll see how long it holds.

I have the exact same problem and just reset my iphone now and the orientation problem still exists. I'm very disheartened.

Does anybody have an update on this issue?

Add me to the list of disappointments .... btw, my is brand new iPhone 4 .... how to notify Apple of this?

I'm noticing the exact same issue, usually appears when i took a photo and switch to my photo albums. I'm just able to watch them in portrait mode. 😟
Btw, there's no need in rebooting the iPhone, just take the "Photos" App out of the system memory by using multitasking, it'll work (for some time, actually)
hope Apple fixes that issue with upcoming 4.0.1 soon...

If you double tap the home button (bring up the multitasking bar) and kill the Photos app from the tray and then re-open it, the problem goes away.

Here is the response from Apple to me regarding this issue:

"I have received word from the Engineers. So, the Engineers they have reviewed all the documentation and the emails and video you sent me and determined that the EXIF data on them (the pictures) is correct. The issue they feel, is not with the photos but rather the viewers of the photos the customer is using. No, they are not meaning you or the friends that are viewing the photos so don't be offended, I know how that sounds. What they are referring to when they say the EXIF data is the data attached to photos that includes information like the orientation, size, origin, camera maker, etc.. Since I am not familiar with 'viewers' or what the viewer is on an iphone I have sent a reply asking for more clarification on this and will contact you as soon as I have more. I apologize I do not know more at this time but I am still working on it. Please hang in there while I attempt to get more information."

I am having the exact same problem. I shut down, turn off, restart, turn off the multitasking... and NOTHING works. I google this topic and nothing seems to come up, so it must not be TOO common or people are just not noticing.... How can we notify apple of this problem???

Same issues with my iphone 3G after a recent update. It's very frustrating not to be able to rotate my photos any longer. It was a great feature while it lasted. I hope Apple comes up with a fix very soon.
