The workflow log will show the particular action that is running. Automator doesn't have a progress bar, although an action could include one (a workflow usually operates on a batch of input items, so progress would depend on the particular action).
Hey everyone. Still scratching my head trying to figure this one out.
I have an Automator application setup to copy large files over to my SAN and I'd like to see a progress bar indicating completion.
Any advice?
I don't think Automator is the tool for something like this. To indicate this kind of progress, a utility would need to figure out the total size of the copy and periodically check to see how much remains. Automator is more of a batch processing kind of thing - you might try something like a Growl notification action.
I realize I am necro'ing this thread after 5 years, but I was looking for the same thing and didn't come across much. About the best you can do is add an AppleScript notification or alert dialog to the end of the flow. Here is what I did for copying files up to my Drobo (NAS).
