Using my laptop as an access point for my iPhone

Hi All,

Can anyone please advise if it is possible to use my laptop as an access point for my iPhone? There isn’t a Wi-Fi network where i live and to have data switched on costs a fortune here, and but i have wired internet access via my laptop. Can i use either the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on my laptop so my phone can use that connection? Basically the opposite of tethering and using the iphone as the access point? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Windows 7

You can create what is called an ad-hoc wireless network using your laptop's wireless card to do so and sharing your wired internet connection via Ethernet wirelessly via the ad-hoc wireless network created with your laptop serving as a wireless router.

Easy to do with a Mac, but not sure how to do the same with Windows.

Do a Google search for creating an ad-hoc wireless network with Windows.
