Integration with Audi MMI

Hey everyone,

the Audi Multimedia Interface integrates fully with the iPod touch, allowing users to fully control the iPod music from the car UI.

however, after I updated the iPod to iOS4, the music playback still works but scrolling through music is extremely slow, and usually does not allow me to scroll through music after the letter "B". this is especially true when scrolling through Artists.

Everything was working perfectly before the update.

I have the 32GB 3rd Gen iPod Touch.

Anyone having same issues? Ive looked everywhere for a solution but found nothing.

I tried resetting the ipod, and also restored to factory setting and restored Data, but still nothing.

Previously, when the iPod was connected, the screen would show the AUDI logo and say accessory connected. Now, nothing appears. I suspect this has to do with the multi-tasking?

Thanks for your help!

Hi k3bab,

I have read your post about Audi A4 2009 model with MMI issues.

Can you please send me the firmware for MMI so I can try update and see if fixes my problem.

background:

I have Audi A4 B8 Sline 2009 Model. I have no problems of connecting my iPhone 5 via bluetooth for making calls, but when I tried to play songs from my Iphone 5 it won't play. It has Company fitted Stereo, I believe it's either Bose or Bang & Olufsen with 13 Speakers.

I hope your firmware may fix this issue? My email address is *******

Thanks.

ive been searching for solutions but nothing seems to work/

i read about an "iPod out" feature in iOS4 in an article about future BMW iPod integration..

does anybody know if this what is causing the issue??

If so.. Apple needs to be more considerate about playing around with hardware support... makes no sense why something that used to work perfectly stops working all of a sudden because of a software update..

OK, sorry if I am off topic but I think this is similar to my problem. I purchased and A4 with the fancy schmancy Bose sound system 4 months ago. I don't want to reach all the way across to connect my iphone every time I get in the car (that is what bluetooth is for) so I can listen to my music (and my wife has a very different itunes library from mine). Why can't we easily load our libraries (including playlists onto SD cards that will act like our iPods into the slots that beg to be his and hers music portals?) Used itunemywalkman for something close but if I have one song in mutliple playlists, it only loads into the first playlist and won't duplicate. Yes I could buy another ipod and just leave it in the car (tried that but the sleep mode keeps shutting off and then it dies if I don't drive for several days). Also, with two sd slots it would be great to have my card and my wifes in each slot to mimik our whole itunes library. Would happily pay Apple for some application (including the equivalent of the cost of another iPod) that allowed me to remake my iTunes library and playlists etc on an SD card. Why oh why have I let this waste so much of my life? This is kind of pain and suffering I expect from a PC.

hey everyone,

just to update everyone with whats happening:

i got my car serviced and there is no available MMI update t o solve the issue unfortunately..

Ive tried restoring the data on the iPod as well but I still get the same issue with scrolling through artists...

its really unfortunate that this happened.. I would definitely restore the software back to OS 3, but it seems that it is a lengthy process which could introduce even more problems.

I really hope that Apple addresses this issue in a future update (hopefuly soon!)

I can confirm the same problems on my iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.

However, I do not seem to have a problem with my 1st gen iPod Touch running iOS 3.

I am also now getting a warning (forget exact text) to the effect that the Audi MMI interface is not current/up-to-date and is unsupported. I am using both on a 2011 Audi Q5. So you would think I should not be getting this error.

Hoping Apple or Audi will post a fix soon.
