iPad to iPod Dock Adapter

iPad to iPod Dock Adapter

I did a search (here and on Google) but couldn't find anything related to an accessory that I'd like to buy. I travel a bit and a number of hotels have clock radios that include an iPod dock on the top like this...

Of course the iPad won't fit, but it seems like there s/b an adapter cable that could connect the two. Maybe it's too new for someone to manufacture, but has anyone found something like that? TIA!

iPad 3G 64GB, 24" iMac 3.06GHz, MacBook 13" and two Mac Minis all w/4GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

You may find others if you do a web search for "dock extender cable" which is how I found that one.

Sahweet! Exactly what I was looking for! I hadn't thought about an iPod specific extender cable...but of course that should work w/iPad as well. Thanks for the instant response! 🙂

It says it does. But I haven't tried any extender with my iPad. And an extender may work with some dock-type devices but not others. Worth a try, though.

I located a few others that were both more expensive and cheaper, but I've always gotten excellent service from Amazon. Plus if it doesn't work I can return it for a refund within 30 days. I'll post back w/failure or success story. Thanks again!

I bought the ProCable Dock Extender a couple of days ago. Strange thing is; if I plug in the cable into the iPad (the other end fits in the JBL speaker system) the iPad says "The iPod does not support this accessory"

After I've turned the system completely off and back on again with the cable inserted, it functions. But every time I connect it back tot the iPad, same problem. The firm I ordered it from have sent me a new cable but same problem....

The cable works fine on an 2nd genration ipod nano.

I can't seem to find many others with the same problem.
