Seagate external agent help

Hi.. I am using seagate external hard disk 1TB.

I have backed up my windows in my external hard disk,

So, now its not possible for me to run time machine...

1. Is there anyway to run time machine in my seagate without deleting my windows files?

2. I installed NTFS - 3G . Now, I am able to move my files from my seagate to trash.

But, unfortunately after moving to trash, If i empty my trash, the files not getting removed.

it still remains in my trash. and if remove my seagate HDD the files are gone, it comes only if i connect my seagate HDD.

is there any solution for it..?

Macbook Pro(2010), Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Create a new partition on that drive, and let TM use that partition.

Right, because the trash files are stored on the Seagate drive, not anywhere else.

I have no trouble deleting through NTFS-3G. Try the solutions here:

Hi G. Ragu;

Why did you format the disk as NTFS?

Why not reformat as HFS+?

HFS+ is the native file system for Macs.

Because he was backing up his Windows install—IMO it's easier to add NTFS support to OS X (NTFS-3G) than it is to add HFS support to Windows (...um?).

But there's nothing wrong with partitioning.

Hi musicwind95;

I don't know about that, I have heard about less problems with Mac-Drive then with NTFS-3G.

Personally with the cost of disks as low as it is today, I think that forcing both Mac and Windows on to a single disk is a false economy.

Even after running the command in terminal..

Files from seagate still remains in my trash..

How to remove it..

We told you either reformat the disk to HFS+ or install software to allow OS X to write to NTFS. So do one or the other the choose is yours.

Hi,
I am able to write files in my NTFS seagate harddisk.

The problem is am unable to delete files in my trash...even after emptying my trash...the files from external harddisk remains in the trash..
