Ipad authorised twice on the same computer??

Just got a new Ipad a couple of weeks ago. I registered it firstly with my Dell laptop (running Vista, probably a mistake!). Initially, it registered ok for the 1st 99% of the process, however it then threw a wobbly and just stuck with the striped animation in the info window of Itunes. I left it for a couple of hours - no change, so decided to cancel the sync process, reboot and try again... only now Itunes is telling me that 3 out of my 5 computers are now authorised with the Ipad! I did also authorise this with an XP based PC upstairs (which works flawlessly, hence 2/5 should be showing) however my laptop is my main computer and it's definitely not authorised on any more than 2 computers as far as I'm concerned. Short of burning my laptop and suing Microsh*t, I've reinstalled Itunes, I've de-authorised/re-authorised it and still no luck. I've also now started getting errors whilst syncing apps and photos. One error told me an app was not 'signed' and an error '-50' appears telling me there are problems syncing the device. It's definitely a Vista issue as the XP based PC upstairs is working flawlessly (albeit a much slower based computer). Anyone had any luck at all with Vista and how do I remove the erroneous 3rd authorised computer which I know does not exist?

If you can't figure it out, once a year you're allowed to deauthorize all your computers and start over, but it's really not an issue till itunes says you've used up all five authorizations:

From itunes support:

To deauthorize all computers associated with your account

If you find you have reached 5 authorizations, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen.

Click iTunes Store in the menu on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers, or if you have used this option within the last 12 months. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact the iTunes Store support via email ( http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/).

Thanks guys.. turns out it was a combination of a few things. I had to register on another 2 computers, de-register the whole lot again, reinstall Itunes and disable some features of my virus checker and firewall - tried all sorts of combinations and this is the only one which worked. Works a treat now too! Just need to figure out what feature of the firewall caused the problem in the first place but it's a small price to sync my Ipad offline until I do. Thanks.
