"Need to restart your computer" - serious issue?

Twice in the past couple months, a screen has popped up that states I need to restart my computer - and it will allow me to do nothing else until I do so. It looks similar to a screen I got on an old Ibook G4 when a Kernel Panic occurred, but I'm not sure if this is the same thing. Also not sure if it's a serious problem that I need to get addressed. Upon restart, I'm able to view the problem report but I certainly can't interpret it. Any knowledgeable folks able to tell me if any of the below raises alarm? (I hope none of the info below divulges confidential information!)

Thanks.

I just ran disk utility and it produced myriad "group differs....", "permissions differ on..." which seem to include every application. I presume that was just some sort of housekeeping error. The only other note was:

"Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired."

I think that has to do with Apple Remote Desktop which you probably aren't using anyway. Doesn't sound serious, but probably isn't related to your kernel panic.

Fixable kernel panics tend to be caused by an outdated driver if you have anything interesting connected to your Mac that needs its own driver to run, like a 9-button mouse, a special video cable, a USB missile launcher, external tablet, stuff like that. To fix it all you do is update the driver. Or it could be a loose stick of RAM or some other accessory not plugged in all the way causing an intermittent connection.

Un-fixable kernel panics are because of a hardware problem like an issue on the logic board, bad wiring...if it is caused by that Apple would have to get inside the case and figure it out.

But yeah it's kind of serious; you should never see kernel panics and should not assume they are normal.
