Facebook notification sound missing

Mine is doing the same!! frustrating....

I get the notification through but no sound. I get sounds for everything else but not for FB posts etc. This is ALSO occurring on my iPad too. I used to get both beeping but now neither of them do it and its oly for FB notification.

I have looked at all settings on both fb mobile and computer and all are good and on. They jsut decided to stopall of a sudden on the weekend.😠

I've had this problem for about a week now too. I get sound for texts, calls etc fine, just Facebook is silent. I've tried restoring the phone through iTunes, both as an update and a new phone. I've tried a hard reset. I've tried deleting and installing the Facebook app again. Nothing cures the problem. This is the 2nd iPhone4 I've had, having had the 1st replaced by Apple at the end of January this year because I had no sound on calls through the earpiece, only via loudspeaker. Getting frustrated with it now tbh!

This has become kind of wide spread. A lot of people are continuing to blame it on the app, but with everything I have done to my phone I can't continue to think it is the app. Allow me to clarify a little. This happened to me about 3 days ago and it is still happening. I have reset, restored, cleared everything you can think of. I have checked all settings in app and on device. I have even gone as far as extracting older versions of facebook from my itune saves and downgraded the actual FB app. I started with FB v5... After all was said and done I have ended up with FB v3.1.2. Yeah went back pretty far. I would guess if it was an app issue that when an older working version was reinstalled that it shoud work, right? So I am starting to think it is a problem with IOS 5.1.1 communicating with FB. I am guessing it has something to do with the integration of FB in IOS 6. This is just my though. Could be wrong, but after trouble shooting for 3 days its the only logical explanation I can come up with. I would think now that apples forums are popping up with this problem pretty rapidly now that the ywould come out and say something. Knowing apple though they will just wait til the 19th, cross their fingers, and hope they don't have to deal with the masses.

I went into the Apple store in Lakeside last night and a guy there was very helpful, checked all my settings, agreed that I'd taken all possible steps to overcome the issue (although I hadn't restored older FB apps as someone has above, so good call, thanks!). He said he'd never head of this issue and suggested it sounds like the FB app causing the problem. ON the face of it, I can kinda understand that view point, but it's not like it's happened at the same time as a new FB app is released, I've had the latest version for a few weeks or so and it's been fine until this week. He said.......IOS6 is out Wednesday, that might cure it.....

Just noticed this morning that it doesn't make any sounds from tweets either, so the twitter app must be suffering from the same thing. Push notification issue?

This is really weird, since last 4-5 days there are no-notification sound on both my iPads (2 & 3). All the settings are the same as they were before but just no sound. Am getting sound from other apps on notification centre except for FB.is this cauz of IOS 6 launch on 19th as some said before ? Very frustrating !

My iphone 4s started with the problem on Friday night. You get the notifiation showing on your phone but you don't get the notification tone anymore!!! messenger, text and email tones are all fine it's just the FB notification tone. All my settings are correct.....This is VERY ANNOYING.....what is the fix????? 😠

The best thing I can tell you is to cross your fingers and hope that with the new IOS about to drop having facebook integrated into it will fix all our problems. I have literally tried everything to fix this problem and have had no success. Well everything except for one thing and since I forgot to save my **** shsh blobs before I upgraded I cant try it. So fingers crossed for Wednesday!

yes it is a small issue but still frustrating when something does not work the way it should. When is the new OS update scheduled ??? 😟😟

ios6 is meant to be available today at some point, according to what a guy at the Apple store in Lakeside told me. Always good to see Apple themselves in here and helping out....oh wait....nope, that's them sat on the fence with their fingers crossed again isn't it!

i thought i was the only one with this problem ... ios 6 hasnt done anything ... ive tryed everything that people have said to try ... hopefully its just a case of facebook needing to update their app for the ios6 maybe ??

Good to know that I am not alone and not going mad!! Mine has been doing the same thing for a few weeks now and I have checked all of my settings. The bad news is that I downloaded iOS6 this morning and the issue has not been fixed 😟

So I have had this problem for 2 weeks now and holy mother Mary of Jehovah it's giving me a migraine!! I was hoping the iOS 6 would mend the problem, and was really thinking it would work but alas........ EHHH NA! Then I get a notification from the App Store 15 minutes ago saying Facebook update for iOS 6 with bug fixes! So I'm feeling this is it, finallllllly this is gonna be fixed, so I comment on someone's post who I k ow will write back, sweat being wiped from my brow I waited for reply, it came and WHAAAAAM!!!! Yeah it didn't work! I'm so f**kin frustrated!

OK so I can now say I have no idea what the **** is the matter! I thought

with iOS6 it might fix it, I was wrong. So then I started blaming it on the

actual FB app. Well just received and update from 5.0 to 5.0.1 and the

problem is still occurring. I am at a loss for words!
