How do I turn OFF passcode lock?

On my prior (3G) iPhone, I used the Passcode Lock feature. I guess because of habit, I activated it on this new iPhone4 too. But, now I don't want it on. I want to turn it off.

I tried going to settings / general / passcode lock, and it prompts me for my passcode, but then then when I enter my code, the "turn passcode off" button is grayed out. what's the deal here? I want to TURN IT OFF, but I'm not interested in reseting my phone back to factory settings to do it, as I spent a fair amount of time getting this phone and the UI customized to me.

anyone else having this problem, or have a suggestion?

thanks

Hi There, Is it possible that your using a VPN connection or an Exchange account that have been setup to use a mandatory passcode? I believe this would prevent it being turned off.
You could try writing the details down of any connections and then removing them, restarting the phone and seeing if it makes a difference. If it does, the administrator of the system you're using may be able to help. If you back the phone up first you'll be able to restore if anything goes wrong.

Hope this helps.
