Credit Card info for FREE apps

I just got a new iphone, I am trying to download facebook on it, and it shows in the apps folder that it's FREE, but when I click to INSTALL it keeps asking me to verify my credit card security ID. Why do I have to give credit card info to download and install a FREE app?

The credit card associated with your iTunes account perhaps changed or something. A valid credit card is needed for iTunes purchases regardless of their cost (or lack of).

Actaully a Itunes card added the account will do the same exact thing. Added a CC, then a itunes card then deleted the cc, can get any free app I want
