Easily Playing Chords

Is there an easy way to tell GarageBand to play chords on a piano? I'm all digital with no physical instruments. It's pretty hard on the standard mac keyboard. I know the chords I want to play I just need to some how input them.

Mac OS X (10.6.3)

I've been there to the piano roll but when I right click on the sheet music and select a note, that just replaces the "Insert" feature with the note, but doesn't actually place the note on the page. EH what am I doing wrong? Same goes on the piano roll (until I hit record).

One of the ways to enter notes via the piano roll, first cmd-click in the actual software instrument track to create and empty region. Then open the track editor>piano roll and you can now hold down the cmd button (the cursor will change to a little pencil icon) and using your mouse choose the spot to enter your note.

Yes. Just use the track editor > piano roll. Its easy as pie to create chords, shift, copy and paste, lengthen notes, change velocity etc.
