iPhone Bumper ... I Get It
However, I do have the "you're holding it wrong" antenna issue.
It is 100% reproducible. Sometimes I drop from 5 bars to one or 2 bars. Sometimes I drop all the way down to EDGE. (ouch)
I've read about the many theories and possible fixes to this issue.
Today, I decided to buy the iPhone Bumper accessory, which some say fixes the issue.
I have to tell you, it does. I put the Bumper on my phone and I do not see any drop in bars. I realize Apple has stated that the bars I'm seeing aren't really the bars I'm supposed to see. But that doesn't really address that the bars I see (right or wrong) drops dramatically when "I hold it wrong".
So, the Bumper fixed my issue. (actual results may vary by user)
Then I "got it".
It's called the iPhone Bumper, because if you put it on your iPhone, it will "bump" up your antenna's performance. (and it does)
Also, it's a really nice Bumper. Well made. Fits very nice. And it recesses the Vib switch, so I no longer have the issue of accidentally activating the Vib switch when I put the phone in my pocket.
Got antenna issues?
Get a Bumper!
