Pages bookmarks in PDF output

How do I create PDF bookmarks from Pages? By this I mean the bookmarks visible in the left-hand navigation pane in Acrobat Reader, not in-document hyperlinks (which work fine).

I know this must be possible, because the Pages User Guide has them, and I assume that it was created using Pages. Anybody know how exactly the User Guide was produced?

Thanks.

That would be nice to know. I don't think Apple has used Pages for the User Guide though.

I just found out that you can in a PDF saved Pages document with a Table of Contents click in the TOC and you get the page you've chosen. But there isn't any TOC (what you call bookmarks) on the side. 😟

That would be something to ask for in the next version of Pages.
