iPad won't show up in iTunes or charge when plugged in to a wall socket

Hi,
I have had my iPad for a few days and everything worked fine, and then today I have plugged it in to a wall socket to charge and it won't even recognise it is plugged in. It also does not connect to my PC or show up in iTunes.

Anyone know how to resolve this, or is it a hardware issue rather than a software issue?

It could be either hardware or software.

First thing to try is:
1) Press and Hold the Home and Wake Sleep buttons until the Apple Logo appears.

2) Try a different charging/sync cable, if possible.

3) If that doesn't work, try a reset, To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset.

4) If it still doesn't work, you can try a restore via itunes.

If none of the above work, you can make an appointment at Apple for the expert to test all the components. Take your ipad, charging block and cord.
