Shutter noise
Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off the shutter noise when using the camera?
compaq, Windows XP
just turn the phone to vibrate till your done taking your pic then turn it back off.

I believe not. I have real cameras where I cannot change that, either.

While I haven't tested, I know the OS in some countries do not silence the shutter even in silent mode due to country laws about stealth picture taking.
Am curious if maybe they added it universal to all with iOS4.

It didn't make the sound when I silenced the phone

That's because it is the actual lens making that noise. on most cell phones it is just a sound effect.
I tried it with the phone on vibrate and no shutter sound was created. Thanks!

I do have digicams where you can control the loudness of the "shutter" sound.
