Can't Send Rich Text Formatted eMail

Hello,

I have searched the forums for an answer to this issue but couldn't find anything relative, so I thought I make a new post.

No matter what setting I set, every email I send in Mail.app is sent in plain text format. It appears Mail.app is stripping out the formatting. It has been this way since upgrading to Leopard, I just never took the time to investigate it, but now I have a real need to send rich text formatted emails.

In Mail.app I go to Preferences -> Composing tab, under *Message Format*:I chose *Rich Text*; under Responding I have unchecked: *Use same message format as the original message*. I have tried it checked and un-checked. Makes no difference.

I have several email accounts from different domains and when sending to myself to verify this issue, I find that no mail is received in rich text. And again, in the Sent folder of Mail.app all emails show as plain text.

Even when I receive rich text and reply to those in rich text, Mail.app converts everything to plain text with no formating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After more careful investigation, I found that my emails are in fact being sent as rich text. However, I do not understand why they are not keeping their formatting.

When I receive an email from others the rich text formatting is there, but if I send to myself or others the formatting is stripped, and in the Sent folder it is stripped, too.

This does not make sense.

Open your New Message pane and compose a short message to me. Select the text and use the Fonts button to set the font to Zapfino size 24. Send me the message. Your choice of font and size should be preserved at my end and in your Sent folder. I will be curious to see the results and the code.
