iPod mini click-wheel

I got my iPod mini last christmas. Never had no problems with it what so ever. Over the thanksgiving weekend I added about 25 songs to it. SO I have alteast 560 songs on it. Well today in the monrin it was working fine. I put it in my pocket. On the way home I go to turn it on it works but the clickwheel wont move. Every other utton works fin just the clickwheel. I reset it, whipe the clickwheel off, blow on it thinking maybe its too hot or something and it still wont work. Once I get home I restore the thing. The clickwheel still dont work. I decide to let it play and drain the battery. Do a full 4 hour charge, download some songs, and it still wont work. :-'(. Im a little amazed because compared to most epople I know my iPod is in practicly perfect condition. Its clean and I always whipe it down with a dry cotten towel and keep it in a case. Ive never droped it or got it wet or even fallen on it. Any suggestions?

Hi-I got my Ipod Mini in May of this year. Since that time I have experienced this issue 3 times-the last being tonight. 3 out of the 4 buttons on the click wheel will respond but not the menu button. In other words I am stuck in the same playlist-won't move. I can move from song to song in the playlist but can't get out of the playlist. The only thing I can do is let the battery die down and then recharge it-I guess that resets the settings. Can someone help? I have over 700 songs on mine.

Actually I just came here seeking help for the same problem. I also have a mini that was a christmas gift last year - A week or so ago it was working fine all morning, then suddenly the click wheel wasn't working. At first I just figured i had the hold button clicked over - that wasn't it. The part I found oddest was that all of the other buttons still worked. (Menu, Play, The center button and the skip track buttons). If I turn hold on and then turn hold back off the click wheel will work for anywhere between 5 and 10 seconds then stop again. Same with pressing the center button or the menu button - it will let me scroll with the click wheel for a few seconds then stop (and I have to press other buttons to get it to work again).

In other words I can skip around after a fashion but it's very annoying and more importantly I'm concerned that there could be a more serious problem in the future. [I have reset it, upgraded to most recent software, etc, and nothing has worked so my assumption is that it has to be something more along the lines of mechanical/hardware]
