I am having the same problem too. My wifi worked fine before I went on vacation, but ever since I got home, I can't access my network because my password in "incorrect". I KNOW my password is correct. I triple-checked it.

Had the same problem with our new iPad. I was not sure if the connectivity issue was because I could not remember the password or if I was typing it in wrong. Regardless, it gave me an excuse to get a new Airport Extreeeeme base station to replace my "flying saucer" Airport. I started from scratch, but now I've got a masked home network plus a guest network. The added security is a big plus too.

I had this problem occur with my iPod about 3 or 4 times. I would have to turn off wifi and turn it back on then put my password in to make it work. I also went into the settings and reset my network settings and it hasnt happened yet. I have also since then restored my iPod to a back-up so you might try that if resetting the network settings doesnt work.

It would appear that iPods really need to be upgraded as a "new ipod" to really get everything working right...

my ipod has the same exact problem. after i updated it with the new 4.0 software, i had to reset my ipod because it kept closing out my apps that used the internet. anyways, ever since then, whenever i try connecting back to the internet, it says that i have the wrong password, even though i know for sure that it is the right.

apple has probably gotten complaints about this situation because it seems to be happening to more than a few people. in my opinion the only thing we can do is wait for them to come up with a new update that will hopefully fix the problem.

but all i can say is that im really upset about this cause now my ipod is basically un usable because i was always using the internet...

Just purchased my Touch, and I am not able to connect at all. It tells me my password is incorrect, and I am positive it is the right one. I use it on my laptop to connect also. I have tried resetting the network settings, and even using another connection that didnt require a password. Still cant get online at all to set up my gmail, my Itunes account...nothing. Pretty sure I will take back the Touch and stick with my Classic.

I also had the same problem, tried all the suggestions with no luck. Here is what finally worked for me: Using WEP 128 bit security. I kept getting the incorrect password. Knew I was putting it in correctly. On my router, in my wireless advanced settings, the options included an authentication type. My options were 1)Open system 2) Shared Key or 3)Both. My router had defaulted to 3)Both. I changed the setting to 1)Open system. I put in my password and it connected immediately. Hope this helps someone else.

Hi everybody,

the same annoying bug happens to me and the iphone 3g of my friend. The solution proposed above changing to WEP and open authentification is not a good idea because WEP is to easily hacked by brute force. It is not a safe encryption. The problemm occured only after an os update the same for the iphone of my friend. Searching the web shows that there are many people encountering the same problem but nobody seems to have find a lasting solution!

I'm having the same problem with my 4th gen iPod touch which I got just last week.

I'm pretty sure I'm entering the password correctly, and it's not the router or the network 'cause my laptop and PS3 connect just fine. I've tried reseting the network settings on the iPod, changing the SSID, password on the router but still can't connect to the network, It's getting really frustrating! CAn someone please tell me how to fix this issue? I have no idea what to do next...

Thanks

What make/model router do you have? What security type is configured? Do you have MAC address restriction configured in your router?

Have you tried the simple step of powering off and restarting your router to see if this corrects the problem?
