I am having this exact problem and came to the forums to see if I could find a solution.

I only have problems importing photos from my Kodak easyshare DX6490 when I have a video on the camera. This only started after a recent update and is very frustrating. Previously I just deleted the video in order to get the photos off the camera, but currently I have kid first on video and I don't want to lose them. At the same time I don't want to never be able to import a photo from my camera again.

I don't think there is any problem with my memory card and personally don't want to unnecessarily format it until I can get my videos off of it first.

Has anyone found a way to import videos, or photos on the same card as videos from Kodak easyshare cameras at the moment?

Use image capture (in your applications folder) to get the photos & videos off the card

Generally this is, as noted above, a card format issue - or a large video issue in the case of videos

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I don't believe it's the memory card brand that's the problem because other Kodak owners are reporting the same problem and I'd be surprised if all had SanDisk dards. With that in mind have you tried a different brand card or have access to one you can test and report back?

It could be the size of the card rather than the manufacturer. If you can try a card under 4GB to see if that works.

I have the same problem - unable to download videos from my Kodak Easyshare - only started after the latest software update. I think it would be quite coincidental if all the memory cards in all the Kodak Easyshare cameras "went bad" at the same time! This is definitely a problem with the latest update. I now use Image Capture to get pics from the camera to iphoto and it works quite smoothly. You can chose to import directly to iphoto and the pics appear just as before. Not a clunky work-around at all.

You're right. The latest update just doesn't like something about the Kodak cameras. Be sure to report the problem to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html. The more responses they get the higher up on the priority list it becomes.

Even using Image Capture, I cannot get the images off my Kodak Easyshare (ha!) C190. Any other suggestions for pulling the pictures off before formatting the card?

Have you tried a card reader? You can use the Finder to upload the files to a folder on the Desktop

Well, in response to one of the posts, I've just deleted two video clips from my DX6490 and then the rest of the pics downloaded perfectly to iphoto!
My card is a Kodak one, not Sandisk, so still no idea why videos clips are messing things up.
But I would never have thought of that, so many thanks for all the suggestions in this thread!
