Well you are probably right. My wife's colored bumpers are indeed on Lantau Island as well and it has been twenty hours. It is definitely a theft and not a delay in updating the FedEx online information or just the normal course of delivery. They were shipped for delivery on the fifteenth when They were not even supposed to ship until the seventeenth. OMG, they shipped early so those thieves could get their hands on them. Dang it. Will I survive.

Anxiousness about getting your phone is understandable, but criticizing FedEx cause you thought the phone should have left Lantau already is just silly.

This is what I have (on the shipping status of my 2 iPhones).....

Jul 7, 2010 5:43 PM In transit LANTAU ISLAND HK
Jul 7, 2010 1:30 PM Left FedEx origin facility SHENZHEN CN

and as of this morning, they're still sitting there. Wouldn't it be more advantageous to have the iPhones made HERE in the USA, employing US citizens who NEED jobs???? (Yes, I know the cost would rise but we're talking US jobs)

when it says "*In Transit*" next to Lantau Island that typically means that it has departed from there and the 15-24 hour wait is because the flight and time for it to clear customs/be offloaded/be scanned/be updated in their system (which shows up online) takes around 15-24 hours.

flight from there to AK = approx. 10 hours, to memphis, just shy of 15 hours

It's not sitting there...it's in flight over the vast Pacific ocean. It takes a while - it's a big ocean.

I think it would be nice if Apple could have their devices made here in the US, but either Americans would have to be willing to work for "chicken feed" or iphones would have to cost $1,200 each. 😉

(Yes I know Apple Mark up is ridiculous - but who can argue with their business model)
