MacBook Pro doesn't go to sleep

Hello,
Since I installed Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (clean install) my MacBook Pro never goes to sleep alone. If I select "Sleep" from the Apple menu or if I close down the monitor it goes normally to sleep but if I leave it on, it never goes to sleep (with Leopard I didn't have any problem).
I tried to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth connection, checked the Power Setting options when MBP isn't attached to power supply but simply it stand up ever, just the monitor goes to sleep but not the mac.
The only thing I can guess can be useful for understand the cause of the problem is my hard disk: I've changed it from the 120 GB original one with this one: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=482 (model: WD3200BEKT).

Can someone help me?
Thanks and best regards

Hi, My new Macbook pro (10.6.4, 13") has exactly problem with your Mac, whatever I do, it just doesn't sleep base on energy saver (as you said" if leave it on, the mac never goes to sleep, just the display goes to sleep), but if i select sleep from the apple menu or close down the lid, both of the Mac or display goest to sleep.

I called Apple expert, but the problem is still here. I just bought it a few days ago, so I can apply a DOA replacement for a new Mac, but I don't know if I should do that, also i am worrying the new mac will still has the same or other problem!

Anyway, i am going to talk to Apple expert today again about this! if you have any news keep me inform,So do I!

I appreciate!

"I read all the article but there is nothing new that I didn't know before."

So you didn't even try any of the mentioned solutions?

If you have already done so, see KB Articles: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411 *Apple Portables: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)*

Do not think it is a problem, there is an application, or piece of hardware keeping it from sleeping. If I boot from my external drive without any applications installed and no hardware connected it sleep, if the internal drive and hardware it does not. When I got it slept by itself until i installed all my hard and software. This do bug me as i do not use it

Hi F,

Now it got funny, I attempted to access this link and it got me this message:

Due to a scheduled upgrade of Apple's support systems, some features of the website are currently unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience.

With redirection to http://support.apple.com/error/503.html?locale=enUS&viewlocale=enUS

This is Apple's discussion problem solver sensor indicating the thread issue must be a schedule related running process. Check it out, fellows!

Good luck.
