Can't burn, doesn't recognize blank cd-r's, just spits them back out!

I've never had this problem before. I went to burn a playlist in itunes and when it asked to insert a blank cd, I did and it sounded like it was going to work, only to have it just spit it out without even an error code.

A couple times a bit ago I was getting that stupid 0x8002006D error code, so I just assumed maybe I had so bad cd-r's, so I bought new one's and still didn't work.

Now nothing is happening, it just makes that startup sound about 3 times before it spits the cd out without even acknowledging that one was ever inserted! I've even just tried inserting a cd without itunes up to see if it'll prompt me onscreen abot what I want to do, but no, nothing! It pops back out.

It's soo frustrating! What can I do?!

I was using Memorex and the same thing happened, so I bought Sony, same thing. So then I booked an appointment with the genius bar and he tested a Staples brand and it worked! But that's ridiculous, I just bought a new spool, I'm not going to go out and buy another one. He told me my superdrive is "sensitive" and it'll cost me $260 to fix it since I'm out of warranty!

Ok gents, Now hear my story with the Legandary Optical Drive, Few weeks ago my logic board failed as my MBP is End of 2007 made ( As these models made that time known for the logic board high failure rate ), Any way, Went to the apple storehere in Thailand and they told it would take about 10 days to 2 weks to fix, Ok no problems go ahead but i stated in their check form that PLEASE CHECK MY OPTICAL DRIVE AS IT'S ACTING FUNNY!!, It spits out the DVD or don't even read any CDs, 10 days later they called me PLEASE COME TO GET YOUR MACHINE, IT'S READY ( BTW i forgot to tell you gents that this apple store is 990 KM away from where i live ), So booked a domestic flight ticket to Bangkok and went to the apple store and tried it and everything was ok EXCEPT.... guess what? My superdrive scratched 4 brand new DVDs just infront of them while their final report which i have a copy of it says that the superdrive was checked and running fine!! Ok guys whats going on? They apologized with blooded faces and took the superdrive out and told me it would take another 10 days to bring a new one from Singapore ! Ok no issues go ahead and order a new one for me please, After 3 weeks they called me ( last week ) that the apple tech guy is coming down to where i live along with a brand new DVD drive ( It was not new BTW, It was a repaired one fixed in singapore but they told me it's a brand new one, It was full of scratches and smells like it's been used, I assume every one knows how a brand new electronic device smells and looks like), He came in and installed it and another surprise !! This one even did not take any CD or DVD at all, The moment i push the disk in, Few seconds and it spits it out again!!, This time i was really out of my mind, i told the guy what is going on now, He replied that he need to take my MBP along with him and give it another look and fix, I told Him NO NO NO!! Now this time you want to take my Mac, You give me a replacememnt till you fix mine then i will give you back the one i took from you, Since i get alot of work to be done on my mac and i can't really stay without it for few days as i get some presentations to do ( This happened today ) and till new i didn't get my superdrive, Now remember that i was in their repair shop for about 10 days when they were replacing my logic board !! i'm really thinking of buying an external drive. So sorry for a long story.

I have a similar problem. My Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-112D will try to load blank CD-R's and CD-RW's for a while and then spit them out. It will load different brands of blank DVD-R's fine and it will read music CD's fine. I have tried different CD-R brands: Nashua, Verbatim. I have also tried newly bought Verbatim blank CD-R's. I have tried squirting compressed air into the drive, rebooting, resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) and resetting the parameter random access memory (PRAM).
