I recently upgraded to SNow leopard.
I have logic pro 9
I tried opening older tracks and they won't open due to the version
I made those on logic express 7.
Some of those tracks used intakt and battery 2 which now don't work on 10.6 but did on 10.5
Logic express now wont open and crashes every time i try.
Is there a way of getting around this
Mac Pro 2.8 Quad Core,
Mac OS X (10.6.4),
10gb ram
Maybe, maybe not. Could you post two crash reports? One of L9, one of LE7? SI's that have changed won't be available, but the project should open nevertheless.
Also try starting up L9/LE7 with coreaudio disabled: just hold the control key while starting the app.

I can tell you only what I could have said a bit sooner: I don't think LE7 is compatible with Snow Leopard. Also, it needs "translation" (PPC-Intel), which could make it sluggish even if it ran.
Can you open the LE7 files in LP9 with coreaudio disabled? Or does it also crash?
Hi there,
the version of Logic Express you used to create those projects is not [Universal|http://www.apple.com/universal> - compatible with Intel machines - Snow Leopard.
You need to save the projects in Logic Express 7.2 which is not available anymore for purchase or download. At that time the Pro version for example was available for a small fee (£20).Try ebay or google to see if you can find it anywhere available to buy.
Logic 7.2 (Express/Pro) works fine in Snow Leopard.
In case you find LE 7.2 or a friend happens to have it…here is a list for [LP/E 7|http://support.apple.com/kb/TA22604] and [LP/E 9 Startup Modifier keys|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2047] to choose for troubleshooting. …to disable incompatible plug-ins etc
