Orange Fsmail issues

Orange Fsmail issues

Hi there everyone
I am new to imac and i have just bought the 27" version with the 3.06GHZ. I have managed to set up mu goole mail account s but the only one i am having issues with is orange. my email address is grahamjayne@fsmail.net and for some reason it is not liking this at all. Has anyone got any ideas on how i can get this to work or is this compatible with mac?

Do you mean Google mail account?

If so and you have an email account with them, that would be Gmail (at least here in the US) and your email address would then be johndoe@gmail.com (not fsmail). Or is "fs" your ISP/email provider and I misunderstood your questions?

And, being in the US, what/who exactly is "orange"?

Hi Graham,
I am with Orange also so i understand totally what you mean. The best way to solve this will be to ask Orange what their mail servers addresses are and which ports you need to connect to as chances are your mail is IMAP and Apple Mail may not be able to "guess" what servers to connect to as Orange obviously isn't operating in the US!.

For reference Orange is a British ISP!

Thanks! And, although I'm in the US, you are absolutely correct: the OP needs the incoming and outgoing mail servers from his ISP and enter those in Mail.
