Droid sync with Mac

I have a MacBook Pro and am considering a Droid phone with Verizon. Does anyone sync the Droid with their Macbook pro? Does the process require additional software? Is it seamless? Thanks

As a long standing Verizon customer and no fan of AT&T, I had a Droid X for 3 weeks before I returned it and switched to AT&T to get an iPhone 3GS. Every droid phone requires the user to have a Google account so you can sync your mail, contacts, facebook, twitter, and calendars with Google which will sync to the Droid. The best program I found for music and photos was Doubletwist (via USB). It looks pretty much like iTunes and operates similarly. There are a number of file management apps that allow transfers between your Mac and the droid via wifi, bluetooth, or USB. None of them worked well.
