Canon MP560 Pauses when used offline as copier, must reboot to print

Canon MP560 being used with WiFi,no issues for online printing or scanning. However, when the MP560 is used as a copier (offline), it is seen as "paused" by the Mac and I can't find a way to get it awakened short of rebooting the Mac. Once rebooted, all is well, until the printer is again used offline.

I have all the latest software installed from Apple and Canon.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

I have the MP560 with the Canon CUPS driver software 10.30.3.0, dated 2/25/2010. I've installed it both wired and wirelessly, so I can print via USB in the den, as well as wirelessly from anywhere in the house.

When I use Copy from the front panel, print jobs sent from the computer just go into the appropriate print queue (wired or wireless).

Once the Copier function from the printer front panel is finished printing, the print jobs sent from the computer just resume automatically.

The MP560 shows the message 'printing from PC' when a print job from the computer is being processed, and the front panel controls are disabled.

What shows when you click on the printer icon that shows up on the Dock during printing?

Same thing here. I've searched tirelessly for a solution. It seems to be a Mac specific problem because my wife's netbook never gets into the endlessly "Paused" state that all three of my Mac's do (iMac, and 2 MBPro's all running 10.6.4).

I started the research for a new printer and will probably be hitting the buy button today on one of them. But first I will be searching to make sure this same problem does not exist with whichever one I ultimately choose to purchase. I'm also going to make sure my new printer has and ethernet port too. I think our Mac's and the MP560 have a hard time remembering each other over wireless.

Anyone else with this issue also using the Verizon-supplied Fios Actiontec router? Maybe it's the culprit?
