Photo booth question?

I have recently downloaded "more ichat effects" from the apple site. whenever i use most of the effects, the product comes out inverted and white. does anyone know how to fix this?
p.s i have a white macbook, im running snow leopard and it's photo boooth version 3.0.2
i have heard that you can change it to "open in 32 bit mode" but i do not have that option. i went to "get info" on photo booth and underneath "label" there in no box to check for the 32 bit mode.
if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to Discussions, elijones

If you do not get the answer you need here, the developer of this non-Apple software should be your best source of help making his software work with your system.

Another user that he has also experienced your problem has posted in the developer's dedicated "More iChat Effects" here:

  http://ismileys.free.fr/support/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2

I suggest you try all relevant suggestions for troubleshooting your iSight from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090

If the only software that gives you problems in any user account you test is "More iChat Effects", your problem is not with your iSight or your Mac. Rather it seems most likely with that the problem is in the software or some conflict with it.

If everything else works correctly, try reinstalling the latest version of "More iChat Effects." If reinstalling does not correct your problem, follow the developer's instructions and uninstall these effects. You can find both a download link and uninstall instructions here:

  http://ismileys.free.fr/mac/moreichateffects/

If you need to pursue the matter further, you can try follow or add to the existing thread in the "More iChat Effects" forum or email the developer for individual help. The developer's contact info is available here:

If your Photo Booth 3.0.2 app does not show a 32-bit option, your Mac may be 32-bit native, and, therefore, automatically running all apps in 32-bit. You can check your Mac's specific capability using the information from this article:

if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated

We will watch for you status update. Hopefully you can report a successful resolution.

From the "More iChat effects" developer site:

"Warning: With Snowleopard (10.6), Photobooth has a little bug... and when you save a picture with some effects, the colors are inversed."

You could use another imaging application to invert the pictures back to normal, for example:

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/imaging_3d/imagesmith.html

change it to "open in 32 bit mode" but i do not have that option.

You are probably already running in 32-bit mode, I don't think 64-bit operation is supported with Core Duo CPUs. This could be the reason there is no "open in 32 bit mode" box to check.

Sorry Jim, just saw we cross-posted.

Hello again, elijones

If the other suggestions you try do not resolve your problem, the Developer's original comments re: Snow Leopard trouble are here:

  http://ismileys.free.fr/moreichateffects/support/

You can click and read the (25) comments there for more info, but you can also click his "Contact Me" link there to see additional information:

  http://ismileys.free.fr/contact.html

Obviously in your case, the solution is not to update to 10.6.2 because you are already using 10.6.4

Perhaps the Developer's known-issue concerning effect counts requiring even multiples of eight could help you. If you want to test this possibility, close Photo Booth if it is open. Then count the number of effects in your Mac's /Library/Compositions folder and divide it by eight. If there is a remainder, drag that number of effects to some other location, restart Photo Booth, and check whether the remaining effects then work properly. If the problem persists, quit Photo Booth again, drag the effects that you removed back into the /Library/Compositions folder, and consider contacting the Developer for individual help.
