Apple Watch bands

I have a small wrist. Not sure of the exact size. I purchased the 44mm stainless steel black model. Do the 40mm bands work with 44mm cases?

no. the sport loop will adjust to fit your wrist though.

Will a smaller size band 42mm fit on a 44mm case? I just bought the latest Apple Watch out The Series 6. The silver aluminum case is 44mm will a stainless steel link band that’s only 42mm fit on it? from what I’ve gathered it’s the other way around a 44mm band will fit on a 42mm case is that correct? Id really like to get that stainless steel 42mm band, if I do will it fit on my 44mm aluminum case?
