1st there was Fruit Menu..then Finder Pop...now what?

I always Loved to launch apps, or find folders and files from these utility apps in older Mac OS's. I could click on the menu bar apple icon and navigate to anywhere on my hard drive. I think Finder Pop allowed different areas to access the catalog menu anywhere on your desktop. I've been searching for something current to add this functionality, but to no avail. Those old utilities are long gone for High Sierra. I would like to find a similar method for digging into my drive, and launching apps. Anyone? thanks

Thanks dial... That is quite helpful. It does most of what I'd like, except for being able to activate the menus from other locations on the desktop, or menu bar. Would be nice if I could right click (or Control click) on the desktop anywhere, and get the menus to appear....but, in lieu of that, I'm happy with what it is.
