Once set up via the Health App it should install the ECG App on the Watch Applications, it is a separate App from the Health App. You can find it in the apps or see it on the complications if you did the set up via the health App.

Apple has not been as clear on this as they could have.

What watch do your own? In order to use ECG, you must have Apple Watch Series 4. If you have Series 4, are you by chance using beta software? If you are using beta software, you'll need to unregister from beta and download the public version of Watch OS 5.1.2

When you look at the apps on your Apple Watch, do you not see ECG? In settings you'll see Heart Health, not ECG. If you see the app for ECG, tap it like any other app and it will walk you through setting it up with your Health App on your iPhone.

Same. Apple Watch 4. Just updated it to the latest software. My phone is a 7+ and is running 12.1.1. I open the ECG app, it says to open Health app. I open Health app and nothing. Even when I am in Health app and go to Health Data > Heart there is no ECG option.

Since this is so new and my setup happened immediately, I don't know what the issue is for you. But your watch is still covered by Apple Care, so tomorrow call Apple directly and get guidance: 1-800-MY-APPLE

Oh, good, I'm not alone. I have Apple Watch 4 running 5.1.2 and my iPhone X is running 12.1.1, but the Health app does not open up with the "What's new in the Health app" screen. It's as if the Health app itself is a previous version.

I was 99% sure I was running the non-beta version of 11.1.1 but I did the following anyway:

Delete the iPhone beta profile.

Unenroll from the beta program and then reenroll.

Download ads the profile again.

Go to Settings > General > Software Update and you will be given the opportunity to reinstall 12.1.1

I’m pretty certain it’s the same version I was running but it still fixed the problem.

I suffered the same issue of not being notified that the ECG app was available. I tried rebooting phone and watch to no avail. What finally worked was removing the public beta profiles from both the watch and phone. When I did an OS update check, they both updated even though they were already up to date. Once they came back up, the Health app presented me with the ECG dialog and it works fine now. So, if anyone is on the beta iOS/watchOS or even has the beta profiles installed, delete them and check for an update.

Seems like when I went to profiles the beta version was listed. Must have been easy to delete because I had no problem !!! Then you need to update to 12.2 and that will show up in software update section of Settings. If problems sarch for this topic as there were many comments. Hope it works for you

once you do this go to settings, general, software update and 12.1.1 should be listed. Install it and you will be good to go.

OK.....on your phone in the Health App, tap Health Data on the bottom of the screen. Then tap Heart. What happens when you do that?

Nothing. It just has the usual data that my watch sends it.
