Is this a safe website for mac downloads?

I've got two problems on my computer that I'm trying to delete:

Infected app: Application.MAC.InstallMiez.BPY

Adware: Adware.MAC.Generic.9529

Combo Cleaner found these on my Mac. I haven't been able to find anyone who has manual instructions for removing the files, or at least I haven't used someone's solution that has worked (thank you to everyone for your help!)

I searched online, and this website offers a free download versus paying for the 2018 version.

Is this website legit?

Thank you!!

Essentially, there are no legitimate download sites. Only download from the developer's website or from the Mac App Store. If you download software from anywhere else, you should assume you are downloading malware and/or being scammed.

Thanks babowa! I ran the Malwarebytes, and it came up with nothing on my Mac. When I do the etrecheck, it came back as ok too. I've got my report down below if you have any suggestions.

The only scanner that picks this up is Combo Cleaner. I wanted to remove this manually. It's effecting my chrome, and everything I have tried hasn't worked at removing it completely. I've attached a pic of the malware that is plaguing me..

Thank you for the help!

EtreCheck version: 5.0.3 (5018)

No cleaner app should ever be used; I do not know the site you asked about, but I would not get near it.

If you have adware, then download the free version of Malwarebytes for Mac and run it. You can also download the free etrecheck diagnostic tool from etrecheck.com which not only shows problems but also includes some removal capabilities. Both apps were developed by regular long time contributors here and are safe.

What the report shows is that you have two antivirus.

You do not have any virus, because there are no virus in the wild for the mac.

You should uninstall avast. It is worse than useless, it is actually detrimental to your mac normal functioning.

If you choose to keep malwarebytes, do not have it running permanently.

And do not frequent piracy sites, or fall for **** antivirus or cleaners.

You are being scammed. It is telling you it found a threat only to fool you into buying a useless and potentially harmful program.
