Final Cut Studio - Motion 4 will not run despite meeting the minimum requirements.

I would like to use Final Cut Studios Motion 4 on my Mac but it will not load. Error message says it is not compatible with this iOS. Requirements say 10.5.6 or higher. I am running 10.12.6 Sierra. Anybody have ideas? Should I upgrade to High Sierra or would that break the other programs in FCS?
