Observed dented mark after open iPhone box

I just brought an iPhone xs, after open box I observed the screen have dented mark on my new iPhone screen ( the device haven't setup ). I called to customer service and they only want to replace the screen for me but not replace the whole deivce. The dented is obviously is the defect from factory. But I get this unit and apple want me to accept the unit. I cannot get refund or device exchange. I'm so depressed and feel frustrated regarding this issue.
