Wondering if anything special happens when using" Save as Template" vs "Save As" or "Save"?

If using each of these methods to save a project to the Template directory they appear to be Templates. Only benefit I see is the "Save as Template" method always saves to its directory. Are there any reasons one should never use the non "Save as Template" methods?

You pinpointed the only benefit of "Save as Template" quite correctly, gnubee. Very astute observation!

After some experimenting, moving or copying a project to user templates folder does add that project to the list of "My Templates". So, it doesn't really matter how one would save a project to create a template.
