WiFi usage and security in the workplace

I saw this question was previously answered - "I use a wifi (employer-controlled) while at work. Can my employer see what I am looking at on my personal device? Does a VPN prevent this"

What about other forms of iPhone data usage while on employer wifi (i.e. iMessages (texts), applying to other jobs on apps like LinkedIn, checking personal email, etc. during down time) beside pure internet browsing? Would IT/HR/your employer be able to see or read texts/personal emails/etc. also if connected to their wifi also?

Just curious really. Thanks!

Probably.

If you’re using their access point, they control it and can see what is/isn’t accessed on it.

Now if you’re using your cellular data, then no.

Yes, your employer can definitely see what is on your phone. You can either get a personal hotspot, use public WI-FI (risky), or you can go with a cheaper option of using the private tab on the bottom right of safari.

Yes. It is their equipment and time. As already said by Skydiver, use your cell plan if you don't want your activities to be monitored by your employer.
