Re-Arrange channel strips in mixer?

You probably switched to "Arrange" tap view in the Track Mixer. Did you try to switch to "All" ?.
Some very custom channel strip arrangements can be done in the Environment Window - Mixer layer or even you can customize different Environment layers say for Software Instr, Auxes, Buses etc and create Screensets for fast recall etc.

If you set the aux'es in"Read" mode they will pop in just to right of the tracks that are connected to it.
They will also appear in the arrenge window.

One approach to this is to create corresponding Arrange tracks (select the Aux channel strip and press ⌃T). Then when you position that new track in Arrange, the associate channel strip will follow. This is a variation on what cammar said.

It "does not matter how" only if you don't mind doing more work to produce the same result. The method he described can only be done with the mouse, not the keyboard, and it can only be done one channel at a time. The method I described will create Arrange tracks for all selected Aux channels, and it requires only one keystroke.

Then again, you've already explained your preference for doing things the hard way, so I realize you're just being consistent with that preference.

In the mixer right click the aux channel you wish to move...select Create/Select Arrange Track (or use Shift T shortcut). It will appear in the Arrange window. Then (in the Arrange window) you can move it.
