transferring purchases to iTunes library

They'll be automatically downloaded to the device you bought them on. If you have more than one device you have a couple options. 1) on a Mac or Windows device, go to iTunes Preferences and click on the Downloads tab. There you can select to have Music, Movies and/or TV shows automatically downloaded when purchased using other devices. 2) On an iOS device, go to Settings, iTunes & App store, then make the same choice(s) 3) to manually get music onto another device, open the iTunes app and look for Purchases. (On the right side of the screen of the Windows or Mac iTunes program. On an iOS device click on the ... at the bottom of the screen to find Purchases.)

It depends where you purchased them from. If you got them from the iTunes Store, see above, If you purchased them from another source (Amazon, Bandcamp, Beatport, etc.) download the audio files to your computer and then drag them to your Automatically Add to iTunes folder, which is located inside your iTunes Media folder.
