iPad, 6th gen., is frozen on, screen and function buttons unresponsive, seemed to occur during setup, upgrade download. Won't shut off when closing cover or holding down Sleep key. Next step?

No joy with Vol up, down, hold power buttons. Plugging iPad into Mac computer and going to iTunes does not recognize iPad for a reload. Thanks for suggestion. Looks like a trip to Apple in-Store Genius bar is next.
