Hello all
I use stabilization quite often and know that when I turn it on there's a background task for analysis on going. But at some point it stopped doing it. When I turn on stabilization it says it's analyzing, but there is not background task and stabilization never happens even after overnight. (Not very long clip either)
I tried throwing preference file but it's not helping. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Combo clip? Like a sync clip or multicam clip or compound clip? Stabilization has to be done inside the container.
Did you use the Hold down Option-Command as you launch FCP X method to reset the Prefs?
Also worth trying a re-boot of the Mac.

I think it is a bug. Stabilization doesn't work for a clip within a combo clip, but only when I do it within a project. I used to do this all the time but recent update seems to have broken it. Will report it as a bug.
I too have several projects where stabilization never finishes. There is no apparent way to trigger it other than to change the length of each clip.
Far worse, I just migrated to an iMac Pro and now 100+ projects render incorrectly because the stabilization is suddenly different per-scene.
i don’t know whether that’s because some scenes never finished stabilizing in the first place, or FCP’s algorithm is hardware-dependent.
Very frustrating either way. They should call it Unstabilize Project.
I didn't do that key combo but just threw out the preference file. I also tried restarting my Mac and removing all third party plugins but still no luck. But the key combo sounds like a useful tip. Thanks.
