Added Albums gone after Re launching itunes

Something very very strange is happening. I will add an album by dragging the files into itunes, it then adds the album and makes a copy of the music in my itunes media/music folder as it should. I can edit and listen to the album etc and when I close itunes and re launch it, the album has disappeared. The files for that album are still in the media/music folder where they should be. This has been happening for over a month and I just caught on to what is happening. Latest version of itunes is running on latest version of osx, Ive tried over 20 different albums all in various formats.

Hopefully someone knows what might be going on...
