Strange Command-Tab behavior

Hi. I have two chrome windows on two desktops. On one of the desktops (the main desktop) I have another app open. I want to frequently switch between this app and the chrome window on the main desktop without making my eyes sore by having the apps "flying around" in mission control. That's why I decide to use "Command-Tab" to switch between two apps. However, every time I switch from the app to chrome, it goes to the chrome window on the other desktop, and I have to switch back to the main desktop immediately afterwards.

Are there any workarounds?

• Correct way to use "Command-Tab"?
• Better way to handle such use case?
