cannot uncheck Encrypt Iphone Back up Itunes

in itunes , the field Encrypt Iphone backup is not accessible, I cannot uncheck it.

iTunes is saying that a backup requires an encryption even though the "Encrypt local backup" but is unchecked? I have never enabled the encryption option on this device and really do not want the backup to my computer to be encrypted but when i go to try and backup I am getting a error "This iPhone requires backup files to be encrypted. Enter a password to protect your iPhone" then leaves spaces for me to create a password. What do i do if the encrypt backup box isn't event checked in the first place?

Unable to uncheck encrypt local backup from iTunes Summary screen I just setup my new iPhone 14 Pro with my Macbook and it immediately requested I provide a password for the encrypted backup. I obliged. Now I cant turn it off. I had an issue a year ago where this happened with my previous iPhone. If you delete the backup, it still won't reset. When you enter the password it sends a prompt to the iPhone to approve and when you do the message below is displayed. I've tried it 10x and cant figure it out. I want to be able to keep an unencrypted copy locally on my machine. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting, but there's no other info on the internet relating to the issue. Please help! Thanks in advance The password you entered to protect your iPhone backup could not be set because backup has been disabled for this iPhone by an administrator.

encrypted backups in iTunes So I made a backup of my iphone and forgot the password. I deleted the backup, but itunes still insists that I provide that oassword to make another backup. Any way I can tell iTunes to forget it ever saw that phone so I can make a new backup without a password?

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with encrypted backups. This article has information:

About encrypted backups in iTunes - Apple Support

It states you will need the password to disable this.

There is no way to recover your information or turn off Encrypt Backup if you lose or forget the password.
