Will upgrading the RAM in the new Mac Mini void the warranty?

Will upgrading the RAM in the new (2018) Mac Mini void the warranty? I know it's not soldered onto the motherboard so it's possible, I just want to know how it effects the warranty?

It shouldn’t as long as you or whomever does it doesn’t break something while doing it. Apple doesn’t consider it user upgradeable and says to have them do it - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205041

But the warranty itself refers to damage cause by someone not authorized by Apple to perform service - https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/embedded-mac-warranty-us.html

So ultimately it would depend on just what the issue is should you seek service later, and is it tied to either the RAM used (e.g. not to Apple specs) or to the work required to access and change out the RAM. Usually if you know what your doing, are careful and put everything back properly, and use good quality brand name RAM then you should be fine. People have used things like OWC upgrades to Apple laptops before and not had issues getting warranty service. Just if you mess it up, then it’s on you.
