iWatch Series 4 requires iPhone 6 or later. Is iPhone SE an iPhone 6 or later ?
Hi! I see you have a question regarding pairing an Apple Watch to an iPhone. The iPhone SE did, actually, come out after the iPhone 6. The iPhone SE retains the iconic design of the iPhone 5, but has the internals of an iPhone 6s. You should able to pair an Apple Watch Series 4 to an iPhone SE without a problem!
The iPhone SE was released by Apple 6 months after the iPhone 6s.
iPhone 6: September 2014
iPhone 6s: September 2015
iPhone SE: March 2016
iPhone 7: September 2016
So yes, the iPhone SE counts as "later" than the 6, and is fully compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4. You will however need to make sure the iPhone is updated to iOS 12.
Thanks for quick responses. Info was very helpful. Had asked sales tech at Apple Store the same question about compatibility of iPhone SE with iWatch Series 4 a week before I bought the phone, but couldn't remember response though my memory was telling me it was. When I bought the watch today as a birthday gift for my wife, I forgot to confirm the compatibility issue, so I needed to ask the question online to make sure so she wouldn't have a problem. The iPhone SE came out later than the iPhone 6 (roughly the same time as the 6s) and is compatible.
Yes it is, I have both and so am sure of this. Anyway the SE is a 6s inside not a 6
