Can’t enable microphone on Instagram

This option is not in Instagram or Mircrophone it under screen time. Go to settings - screen time - content & privacy restrictions. Look under privacy to see if microphone is selected to ‘allow’ and that not on ‘Don’t Allow’

If you have older version. Go settings - general - Restrictions and find Microphone under privacy.

Unfortunately, there isn’t an option in either Instagram or Microphone to allow it. See my previous screenshots... I’ve looked at every possible setting I know of.

I see that you removed and reinstalled the Instagram application. Now, it's asking for access to the microphone, but the setting doesn't work. I'm happy to help.

If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open -- Since the setting isn't responding, delete and reinstall Instagram again.

Ive tried this but the ‘enable microphone access’ button is still unresponsive

Same thing happened to me, but only on the stories view.

If you go to your Direct Messages and try to reply to one of your friend the same screen pops up, and here you will be able to allow microphone access.

i can fix this problem. I literally had the same problem and after downloading Shazam, it told me how to fix it. Make sure microphone set to allow. Hope it helps you

Have you tried restarting your phone? i had the same problem and i tried restarting then it all went back to normal.

This still doesn’t work. Microphone doesn’t show up as an option.

Yeah I did. If you don’t fully understand what I referring to, I suggest you download Shazam onto your phone. The only reason how I figured out how to fix it was that Shazam explain what I possibly did wrong.

If if go into settings - Instagram and it looks like the screenshot that megen130 provided. Then my solution or using Shazam will fix it. Hope this helps you

I went into settings and found Instagram, selected it and noticed that the mic was switched off. When I switched the mic on it all worked fine. Hope this helps

Thanks for your help! I managed to sort it. There was an instagram update required so just updated through my App Store and all good now.
