Hello,
When I download wondershare videoconverter ultimate from the App Store, it will not convert VOB files, these files are grey out.
When I download this app directly from the website of Wondershare, I have no problems importing and converting VOB and it's not only wondershare apps I have problems with.
Firewall or something that blocks the working of this app ?
Can someone help me please?

You might also consider this possibility: your app will convert content even if it is copyrighted (DRM protection issues) - if your content is commercial or otherwise copyrighted (such as Youtube downloads which are not allowed), then the app store version may be the version that complies with the law and it is therefore not working on certain files.

I just got a serial number from Wondershare and now it works just great.
So there is a lot of work to do.

The first thing to do would be to get rid of BitDefender.
Perhaps ask Wondershare?

I did ask wondershare.
From the App Store I bought and downloaded wondershare videoconverter.
Then the problem occurred.
I asked wondershare.
They asked me to download the wondershare videoconverter ultimate from their website.
I did and installed the app, got a warning from my OS, but now the app worked.
So I went to the App Store(for secure) and bought wondershare videoconverter ultimate.
Got no warning of course, but it does not work.
Wether I buy at the App Store wondershare videoconverter, or wondershare videoconverter ultimate, it does not work.
My conclusion: it's my iMac that causes this problem, not the app. Perhaps Bitdefender or OS Mojave.

Wondershare will send me a serial number as soon as they have received a copy of the invoice from the App Store.
I will let you know when they have done so.
The dvd's I want to convert, I have burned them myself a few years ago.
Since 1984 I worked with DOS/Windows pc(it was my job till 1997). A few months ago I bought a new pc with windows 7, but microsoft won't let you work with windows 7 on a new pc. So I made a big decision, sold my brand-new pc and said goodbye to windows and changed to an iMac. So I have to start all over.

Babowa, i was looking for a good videoconverter, so I found some and read the reviews.
From the App Store a downloaded a few free one's(Prism worked fine until last week, I only got sound and no vision, so I looked further.
Wondershare should be a very good videoconverter.
I have not tried Mpeg stream clip or handbrake.
So for now I wait for the reply/serialnumber of wondershare.

FWIW, often when an app is available both from a vendor's site and the App Store they are slightly different versions. If the one from their site works, I would just use that. Or at least ask them why the Ultimate version from the App Store doesn't work and the one from their site does.
If you burned them yourself, then of course there is no problem. Have you tried either MPEG Streamclip (my preferred converter) or Handbrake?
