iPhone wishing me good morning and displaying an outdoors temperature much higher than it actually is.

When my do not disturb time ends in the morning, my IPhone 6S+ phone displays “good morning!” and gives me an outdoor temperature 10 to 15 degrees higher than it actually is. What setting or app is causing this? Phone GPS is working correctly, as are my weather apps.

The iPhone has a built-in weather app. It's name is "Weather". To find it open the Search and enter "weather". It can give you the weather for anywhere in the world. Unless you went to the trouble of deleting it the Apple Weather app is still on your phone. And even if you deleted it you can get it back as discussed in this link -->Remove built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS 10 device or Apple Watch - Apple Support

Bedtime is not active and has never been set-up, as I have never used an alarm clock for waking. I have never had sleep issues, other than inebriated friends calling in the middle of the night for a ride home. That's what the DND is for. The strange wake up greeting showing the outdoors temperature for somewhere at least 300 or 400 miles south of me is only a matter of intrigue as to whats going on, as no harm appears to be going on.

I believe I have only one weather app that I can find. It is called “WGN Weather”, which is Chicago based, and I live about 30 miles from their location. That app is set to my home location, and the outdoor temperatures it displays are always correct. Could this mystery weather app possibly be located on my IMac Pro or my IPad Air, and communicate this data to my IPhone using the cloud? I have previously had other weather apps on my phone, but have deleted them (or at least I think i did) due to their innacuracy.

Searched for “weather” but it could only find my “WGN Weather” app. Downloaded the Apple Weather app and re-installed it. Set it up by eliminating the California and New York locations, leaving only my own. This morning it showed only my local temperature. I think its a bit presumptive on the part of Apple not to allow the deletion of some of their apps without the use of a special procedure. Thank you for your help in solving this mystery!
