iPhone Mac A new network interface has been detected.

Having put up with the message every time I plug in my iPhone, "A new network interface has been detected" for years, I finally decided to do something about it, and this helpful forum suggested that I simply set up the interface. However, "iPhone USB" is not one of the alternatives I get when I click the + sign in Network Preferences. In fact, the list of available interfaces doesn't seem to change depending on whether the iPhone is or is not plugged in. I have "Thunderbolt Bridge," "Thurnderbolt" 1 and 2, "Bluetooth PAN," and "Wi-Fi."

MacBook Pro (Retina, early 2015), macOS Mojave, iPhone 6S, iOS 12.1.2.

Suggestions?

  1. Enable the Personal Hotspot on my iPhone
  2. Connect the iPhone to my Computer
  3. Click the Plus Option again

The iPhone USB option should now be visible at which point you can disable it which will stop the popup message from appearing.

Go to System Preferences/Network and accept said interface as you own.
